Head of Web Development and Content Management | Informed and Empowered

August 2016 – Present

In the summer of 2016, I birthed an idea: To connect people all over the world with free mental health, empowerment, and all-around wellness-based resources. It began with a website. I created the website from scratch, learning web-design along the way. Then came the content. I began writing articles upon articles. Soon, I found it was too much for one person and hired on some paid and volunteer contributors. Now, Informed and Empowered has grown to include a blog and many other resources, many free of charge and with no annoying advertisements.

My roles have included:
– Web development and WordPress design.
– Content and landing page creation.
– Researching and writing articles and blog posts.
– Managing volunteers and paid contributors.
– Reaching out to people for guest posting opportunities.
– Organizing and scheduling blog posts and payments for posts to paid contributors.
– Creating graphics for posts and advertisements.
– Maintaining mailing list and keeping subscribers up to date.
– Social media management and marketing.

Committee Member | Women’s Centre of Hamilton

Sept 2014 – Dec 2015

As a volunteer for the 2013 and 2014 ‘December 6th Memorial Events’ as well as the Interval House/Women’s Centre of Hamilton’s 2014 ‘Muse Fest’ fundraiser, I worked with other committee members in a variety of ways. For all three of these events, I participated in committee discussions and brainstorming sessions to offer ideas and build upon those of others.

For the 2013 December 6th event I was responsible for creating a short multimedia presentation which captures our theme ‘Voices for Healing.’ I was also responsible for designing promotional materials for both December 6th events.

For the 2014 Muse Fest event, my major responsibilities, outside of committee participation, were to secure sponsorships from small local businesses and to actively participate in the event.
